Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how information is handled in Dendrite (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge this Policy.
1. Operator
The App is provided by the Dendrite operator (the “Operator”). The App does not require creating a separate Dendrite user account. Support contact: admin@archq.net.
2. Information Handled On Your Device
The App handles information on your device such as:
- Notes / notepad content, bookmarks, read-later items, snippets, quotes, voice memos, and transcription results you enter or save
- Content imported via the share sheet (URLs, text, captioned links, and conversation text shared from services such as ChatGPT or Claude and stored as AI Chat)
- In-app Dendrite History (URL, title, site name, dwell/scroll metrics, and optionally a page-body excerpt from pages you browse; not recorded while Hidden Mode is on)
- On-device state such as browser tabs, search history, home/news keywords and other settings, your profile display name, and avatar image
As a rule, this information is stored only on your device (including the App Group used by the App and the share extension). We do not send your memory data to external servers operated by us, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
3. When Data May Leave the Device
Data may leave the device in the following cases. This is not a backup upload of your memories.
3.1 Apple Features
- When transcription is enabled: Apple’s Speech recognition may process audio. That processing follows Apple’s systems and may occur off-device. Transcription text results are generally stored on your device. You can turn transcription off in Settings.
- Purchasing, restoring, or verifying Dendrite Plus: Communication with Apple (App Store / StoreKit) occurs. Payment and purchase records are handled under Apple’s systems. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
3.2 Web Browsing, Search, and Feeds (Third Parties)
Network requests needed for features such as in-app browsing, recommended articles and feeds, fetching pages for article thumbnails, favicon display, and default search may occur. Destination sites or third-party services (for example, Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo) may receive information required for the feature, including:
- Page URLs you open (browsing-history-type information)
- Search terms and keywords (search-history-type information)
- Other request information needed for the feature (which may include parameters based on language or region settings)
This information is sent to third parties to provide the feature. It is not provided to advertising networks by us, and it is not used by us for cross-app tracking. Third-party privacy practices are governed by those providers’ own policies.
3.3 When You Explicitly Send Information
If you send a bug report or feature request from Settings, the email you explicitly send may include diagnostics such as app/OS version, device type, language, and Plus status. The App does not automatically upload your memories.
4. Permissions
The App may use the following permissions only as needed. If you deny a permission, the App is designed to keep working with the features that remain available. The App does not use location, calendar, reminders, contacts, or App Tracking Transparency tracking.

5. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
- The App does not provide personal data to third-party ad networks.
- The App does not use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA) for tracking and does not engage in tracking as defined by App Tracking Transparency.
- The App does not include a first-party behavioral analytics SDK.
- The browser setting “Minimize Ads” reduces on-page ads, popups, cookie banners, and similar clutter on your device. It does not guarantee that all ads will be removed, and it does not collect advertising identifiers.
6. Deletion and Retention
- You can delete on-device memories and related state from Settings (including Delete All Data). Some settings, caches, or temporary extension data may remain.
- Uninstalling the App generally also removes related data stored on the device.
- Free plan features may retain history for a limited period.
- Dendrite Plus purchase records and subscription status are managed by Apple, so deleting on-device data or uninstalling the App does not by itself remove Apple purchase records. Manage cancellation or refunds through Apple.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the App includes unrestricted web browsing, use under parental supervision is recommended.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notice or similar means.
